Some now call it "Jimi's" yard. Having never been outside in his life,
Jimiyu was the second chimp to come outside on April 18, 2005, when
the doors first opened to the new "outside chimp yard".
He has been out almost everyday since his first explorations.

Jimiyu is the second ranking of the three males in the group. Jimi, 13,
has a sense of humor and is very bright. His self-confidence in the new
habitat leads many to think he will become the alpha male of the group,
but he has not challenged Hugo, the alpha male. By those who know
him best, he is referred to as a
"very cool animal".
