The live performance “Whispers in a Plane of Light” was performed at Digicon ’83 (Vancouver, BC) and at Cadre ’84 (San Jose, CA).
“WHISPERS”is a highly structured live “videomusic” performance for large-screen projection, video cameras, performers, and (analog)
video synthesizer and (digital) music synthesizer, each directly controlling the other, all in real-time (rapid switching, no edits) in front of an audience.
This well-received seminal work was referred to as “one of the earliest interactive “videomusic” works on record”.
In retrospect, we had created a MIDI system pre-MIDI.
